Bathroom Design & Remodeling Ideas
Written by: Admin | Date: Wednesday, 16th June 2010

Do you love home decorating projects? The bathroom is a small room in your house where you spend time each day. It is easy to update this room with simple ideas. Each bathroom idea discussed below requires a short trip to the home improvement store and a few hours of time to complete your bathroom update

*To replace a vanity, wave shelves made of glass are a great way to provide space for soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, and other accessories. The wave shelf looks great above or to the side of a contemporary sink bowl mounted on a glass shelf. This design scheme eliminates the need for a vanity in the bathroom. If you have large plumbing fixtures for the sink to hide, you can use alternatives to the vanity like a low box, cabinet, or storage shelf.

*To change the look of the room, you can look for texture as a new theme. That means you buy carpets, towels, curtains, wall hangings, and other textiles with more texture. If your bathroom is too bare to feel homey, the perfect solution is to buy a shag carpet and place it next to the bathtub or shower.

*To make more use of wall space, buy different sizes and shapes of mirrors. The mirror transforms an ordinary space into a more interesting space. Perhaps that is because people have a natural curiosity to look at themselves in the mirror. Another option is to refurbish a mirror that you find at a garage sale or thrift store. You might need to buy gilt or metal paint for the refurbish job.

*To update the paint in the bathroom, use stencils, sponges, or other implements to add a layer of paint over the existing paint. This idea saves you money because it is cheaper to buy a small can of paint than a large can of paint at the home improvement store.

When you think creatively, updating the bathroom requires less than ten dollars. For more tips, visit your favorite home improvement website. You can take professional designs or user-contributed ideas into consideration before you visit the home improvement store.
